On 10th March 2025, Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) has announced the new sunset date for Electronic Prescribing Connecting System Conformance Profile 2.3 to 30 September 2026.
Upgrading from CP2.3 to CP3.0 brings both additional features and additional requirements, setting a higher standard for electronic prescribing.
Key benefits include access to the Active Script List (ASL), which consolidates a patient’s active prescriptions, and richer eScript data for seamless integration with product databases, reducing errors and enhancing accuracy.
However, the transition includes new demands, such as improved account management, support for new eScript types like medication chart-based scripts, and enhanced security protocols.
Vendors also have the flexibility to connect with NDPS and/or the ASL, enabling tailored solutions.
No sunset date for CP3.0 has been set.
