Conformance Profile (CP) 3.0 marks a significant update in electronic prescribing, offering important functionality and improvements to enhance functionality and safety.
Key Benefits of CP3.0
One of the most significant additions in CP3.0 is the Active Script List (ASL), which simplifies prescription management by consolidating all of a patient’s active prescriptions into one accessible view. This feature streamlines workflows and enhances medication tracking, benefiting both healthcare providers and patients.
Additionally, CP3.0 includes richer eScript data, enabling more accurate integration with product databases. This improves automation possibilities and reduces the risk of errors.
New Requirements and Features
The move to CP3.0 introduces new technical and procedural expectations, including:
Account Management: Vendors must implement additional processes for managing user accounts to comply with updated standards.
Support for New eScript Types: CP3.0 requires handling of medication chart-based scripts.
Enhanced Security: Strengthened security measures aimed to protect sensitive health data.
Integration Options: Vendors can now choose to retrieve scripts from NDPS (National Data Program Services) and/or the ASL
For ASL – only assisted registration is supported, with the activation code being provided by the pharmacy
ASL requires support for
Show all scripts returned on the ASL
Hide / Unhide scripts
Different types of scripts on the ASL (Paper, eScripts and medication-chart based scripts)
Some of the security requirements have been challenging vendors, but we can help you navigate through this!
CP3.0 enhances the prescribing ecosystem and empowers patient care with the ASL.
P.S Oexa, having connected numerous mobile apps via our intermediary for CP3.0, has provided feedback to the Agency on these conformance requirements, advocating for improvements in future profiles.
